Wild Sanctuary is the product of over 40 years of scientific nature recordings created around the world by Dr. Bernie Krause, an innovator in electronic music, film score composer and scientist. His career has taken him from teaching the George Harrison and the Beatles electronic music to composing scores to movies such as Rosemary’s Baby to being thrown down a mountain side by a Rwandan gorilla.   Along the way, he has amassed the largest-privately held archive of natural sound in the world. Many of the habitats he has captured with his microphones have been lost forever due to man’s interference.  This has led him on a mission to raise awareness of the natural world through sound.

THE BACKSTORY:

Linden Street Brewery in Oakland, CA is the labor of love of head brew master Adam Lamoreaux. Already an accomplished brewer from working at breweries such as Anderson Valley Brewing Company in far Northern California, Lamoreaux had a dream of reviving a long-dead brewing tradition in the city of Oakland, CA.  Over a century ago, Oakland was producing over 60 gallons of beer annually for each man, woman and child.  By the 1970’s, that had dwindled to zero.   For four years, Lamoreaux has been working to establish a production brewery on the busy Port of Oakland.  He has big plans for his brewery and with his beer on the market for only about 1 year, he has already gained a large local following.

Kirby Foods is a grocery company located in Champaign, IL.  Kirby Foods is an Employee-Owned company that controls 14 grocery stores and other ventures across Illinois and Indiana.  Most of the stores belong to the IGA grocery association that stresses “Hometown Proud Values” and a focus on the community that they serve.

Additional Information:
The Social Media Scientist will have the freedom to use creativity and innovation to create the best possible social media sites. There are no office hours, but occasional brainstorming meetings/conference calls will be required.

Coturri Winery is a family-owned winery high in the hills above beautiful Sonoma Valley. In its third generation and 33^rd harvest season, Coturri has established itself as more than just a boutique winery.  Their wine redefines what it means to be natural. Grapes are grown organically, the wine is free from all chemical addititives that clog mainstream wines, and the wine is just amazingly good.  Tony Coturri, the second generation Coturri, currently runs the operation and has helped this small winery gain international attention.  He is in the process of passing along the torch to his son Niccolo Coturri.
